Hi Joe. I love red especially being an NC State fan but planning to go back the stock Polar White. You never know as plans could change. Fred’s is really sharp!

Red Comet thing kind of a running joke around here.
Polar White would be sharp and relatively inexpensive, cooler in the Summer.
I would reshoot mine original Raven Black but much too hot and I'm not top-notch body man to pull off black very well.

You probably know Caliente means hot in Spanish. Red is the only color it should be

So the Comet took a backseat to my daughters wedding and a few other renovation projects.

I pulled everything out of the car a few days ago trying to get ready for Lizardskin and also tried to clean up the dash. The previous owner had purchased some white face decals for the gages and I gave them a try. Baby steps.

Well, I actually did a little work on the Comet last night. The wedding and pool projects are in the books so time to loop back to the Comet. I have a lot of work to do and thinking that I will work from the bottom up. I spent a little time just getting the car off the ground and getting the front seat in the "right" position last night. I built some 2x4 cribs to help get the car off the ground along with jack stands. I think they were a little bit too big so going to take them apart and redo.

I have some parts from Falcon and JW Rod Garage on the way. Planning to run the brake lines and fuel lines this week. I also placed the teardrop hood on the car and debating between it and the stock hood. Leaning toward the stock one I think.

I'd run a teardrop if I had one. Lots of heat getting trapped under the hood in the summertime.
Temps @ 190F w/ 4 row brass rad of the mousey variety.

Well if you run the teardrop with the rear of it open for air to escape wouldn't it go directly into the cowl opening taking along any fumes with it?
A lot of people like the teardrop, I don't, well maybe an exception would be 427 with a dual snorkel air cleaner, lol.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

Crankcase evac like Comethead Joe’s Falcon.

Thinking more on the line of getting stuck in traffic, idling on a 95F day. All of the aloominum and headers shedding heat like a nuclear reactor.

Would be cool to build a box and duct cooler air to the carb like they did in the good old days.
