Hi Fred. The color combo is going to be polar white with a red spear. The seats are red. I found one on Facebook that I really like that had this color combo with white seats. It was for sale for just a couple days and then I couldn’t find it so it didn’t last long. Mine will have the tear drop hood for clearance. See example

Making a little progress. I purchased some bumper brackets from a nice guy on Facebook marketplace at a reasonable price. A little grinding and some POR-15 and they look pretty good. The wife’s clothes rack came in handy.

Also took the pan off the motor but the new one would require a heavy hammer to get it to fit. Think I will have existing pan modified for extra clearance.

Making some progress. My buddy came over to play this morning and we dropped in the 427. Planning to lower the R&P a smidgeon. Happy to see a little bit of progress!

Lowering the R&P may help bump steer, depending on ride height. I have a little bump steer problem w/ my R&P because it sits fairly high on the bolt-in crossmember. Lowering the front suspension would help me, in that regards.
Hi Lou. The 427 is staying. Gonna have to massage the headers a little and drop the rack and pinion about 1 inch. The C4 fits without modification. Catching my second wind putting it together. Updates soon I hope.

It is nice when you install something and it is going to stay. Hopefully more of the items I install on mine will be for the last time,,but still making some stuff fit requires multiple installing and removing (like headers lol)...
Good news and bad news. After trying manual rack and pinion, offset bushings, motor spacers, banging on headers, etc I decided to let a weekend drag racer enjoy the 427. It’s bitter sweet since I was pretty optimistic for a while and then realty started to set in (sorry Lou). I could have notched some areas and moved stuff around but it still didn’t fit what I wanted to build so I hit the Reset button. The motor has found a new home in a Foxbody mustang.
The good news is that I have purchased the 289 and C4 from 66 Ford Fairlane. A friend turned me on to someone that purchased the car for the front clip and I am taking the engine, trans, headers and a few other bits. Hoping to get moving on this build and get some pieces fitting together. Thats about it for now.
I can't blame you for not wanting to do all it would take to make the big motor at home. You'll have gobs of room now with the towers gone & a sbf. you could stroke that 289 up for some extra cubes/hp/tq/fun.
jmo but a c4 will be boring. nothing like bangin gears!
