I just came across these pictures of my Cyclone from 1969. I had owned the car for just about a year when these were taken. I had just had the car repainted and was not finished installing all the trim, note rear wheel well trim and rocker trim are missing. The color was Ford bright red with gold metal flake and gold pinstripes. I had to save my my money to pay for the paint job, it cost $100 for the prep and paint and an extra $10 for the gold flake and pinstripe!!! ( I spent more than that on masking tape for the silver paint job)

Incredible!!

The black hood treatment was the hot ticket in 1969, the new Mach 1 had it so I thought it was cool. The hood scoop was an OEM part from a ‘69 Cyclone CJ.
I couldn’t afford mag wheels after the expensive paint job!

Those are great pics of a really cool car!
My clock only turns back to 1970 when I bought my first Cyclone. The pics aren't as good as yours, and are from 1973, but she was my pride and joy. Like you, I had one of those expensive paint jobs, too. Paid a friend's brother $125 to paint her. Fourteen coats of lacquer!! If only now.

Oh yeah, I was rollin' in it! When I bought the car it had chrome reverses on it. I bought the American mags from a friend for $100 for the set, then chained the chrome reverses to my mailbox and sold them to a passerby for $50. I sold several things by chaining them to the mailbox. It was my 1970 version of Craigslist. I called them Coke bottle mags because of the shape of the spokes. American has something similar now in their vintage collection, but one of them costs 10X what I had in the set. It's all relative, I guess. I was making $1.60/hr back then.

I've shown this before, but since your talking 1969 this photo was also taken in 1969. My dad and his 65 Cyclone holding me.
