Hey Boss, do you know LSA for the roller?
I don't have the card for mine but suspect it's fairly wide. Vacuum @ 900 rpm is 19 in.

Joe
No, I don't have any info for it. I bought the cam, lifters and heads off craigslist years ago. They were mocked up on a motor but never ran. I got the lift by using a mic and calculator.
Probably Comp cam. If it is......308 duration
Gonna sound like a old panhead Harley w/ drag pipes when it idles 👍
You ditching that 'former race car' in your signature?

Got my gaskets today. Hope to finish up this weekend. Wish I could retire so I could get some work done....

I get it, just trying to find time to work on my fun cars is not easy. Not trying to wish away any of these years.

Hey Boss, are those Scorpion rocker arms? If so, how much do they weigh in comparison to stamped steel?
Been thinking about upgrading to those if not too heavy.

Thanks

Those are Ford Motorsports rockers I bought in the late 80's when I bought the valve cover stud girdle kit. They have really held up well, quality parts are worth the price in the long run.

Added a cross over behind the motor mounts today. Since I use 66 Mustang frame and motor mounts it was not a direct bolt in. Just a had a little trimming on the frame mount and they went in. The red circles shows where I had to grind a bit off.

Finally had a few minutes mostly button up the Boss. The extremely large cam would not work with the rocker stud/girdle valve covers. So I used shorter rocker studs and these valve covers. Also threw on a torker intake I had lying around. My middle daughter graduates from college Satuday so I probably won't have time till Tuesday or so to try installing it.

Congrats to the grad!

Think I spent enough moolah on all my boys college to buy a transport, enclosed trailer, drag car and a spare engine :(
Man, am I'm glad that's over! It's like sponsoring a race team

My oldest daughter graduated 15 months ago and my son just finished his sophmore year in college. I had all 3 of my kids in just 4 years, so all 3 where in college together for a semester. They all attended the same college, so that is nice that they are all together.

Sat the engine in today. Need sometime to hook everything back up and tidy things in the engine bay. Different heads, cam, rockers, shorter rocker studs and new valve covers. Hopefully it works together.

Old Boss 351 with solid flat tappet cam and long rocker studs through the valve cover.

Reconfigured engine. Solid roller cam, more traditional valvetrain.
