C4 breather tube
How does it connect to the trans body? There’s a bolt that attaches to a clip about midway on the tube. That I see, but, is the tube end just “snapped” in? I hesitate to horse it off not understanding the connection. (I’m concerned that it could be blocked.)

If you're talking about the dipstick tube, it's sealed with an O-ring. Give it a little wiggle while pulling upward and it will come out. DO NOT twist it or grab it by the tab. They break off easily. A small bolt is used to bolt the tab to the back of the head to keep the tube stationary.

No, not the dipstick tube. That’s on the right side. This is on the left side.

If you remove the bolt from the tab that supports the tube, the tube will rotate were it enters the case. Can I just pull it out? The trans is in the car and there’s very little room to work within the floor tunnel

Re: C4 breather tube
Back in the 90's I had an early bronco and pulled the tube, tapped the opening, then ran a metal threaded line up higher to avoid water getting into the transmission. Common upgrade back in those days for off road vehicles. I believe it just pulled out, no o ring or anything keeping it in except the bolt and tab on the servo. Just unbolt and pull, but that was almost 30 years ago so I am not 100% sure.

Boss…..
You were correct, my friend. The tube just pulls out and pushes back in. I wanted to make certain that it was blocked. It wasn’t.
