pitman on top?

Post by iglooman »

Hi all,

Does this look correct?

The rod end of the pitman arm goes on top of the center link if manual steering and using the correct center link for a 65 comet/falcon?
Because if I compare it to a 67 mustang I have here, the pitman goes underneath on that one.

It can only go together one way, the sector shaft and the tie rod hole are tapered.

Very true. I see that now.

As far as the ball joint in the idler arm.........I assume I have to tighten the castle nut until the center link is tight against that?

It will seat in the taper just like a tie rod. A little anti seize will help it come apart easier in the future.
