large bearing spindle - outer tie rods

Post by iglooman »

Hi team,

Shown in the pics below are some moog tie rod ends that are suppose to be 69 to 73 mustang.

And also i'm showing two spindles.......left is a C8 (for comparison) and the right is a D1ZA.

The tie rod will not fit the C8 at all, but only goes part way on the D1ZA, doesn't seem to go enough to get the castle nut and pin on....does it?

The D1ZA hole is about 1/2" and the other slightly smaller.

cheers,
gary

Dont understand where the 1" hole is,,?
Too bad you dont have a C3 outter tierod to try they are bigger than C5.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

The last pic looks about right if you have not tried to tighten it yet . after it's torqued down it should come on up some.

Still just on the bench I wrenched it. If I can go another gun-turret or two on the castle nut I think I can get the cotter pin in :)

I'll put it in the vise later and crank it some more.
