Speedometer Cable Too Short

Post by gmsnowball »

My speedometer cable is now too short after installing top loader four speed. Where can I find a cable that is longer. Thanks

Any reliable speedometer repair shop can make you a new cable to your specifications.
My local shop has made quite a few for my projects over the years.

I used this one for both my Comet and Falcon 4 speed cars https://www.npdlink.com/product/cable-a ... 618/200426

Thanks for the fast replies. I ordered a replacement that will ship same day. I swear this 202 is driving me crazy. Seems like every step I take forward I take two steps back. Started as a 202 170CI auto and the wife wanted a manual so I had a 68 Mustang 200 CI and some old falcon six cylinder parts, pressure plate, clutch, bell housing etc so I installed everything, pedals, new drive shaft, etc and worked like a charm but the 202 (peanut) transmission didn't have a synchro in first gear so I installed my top loader four speed from another project. Had to get all new parts, flywheel, bell housing, clutch kit etc for a 200 CI and of course nothing fit as I thought it would, Starter, new high mount, hit the stainless steel headers, speedo cable too short, and on and on. I pick up my new shorter drive shaft today. Boy I hope this nightmare will end soon. Sorry for the rant.
