Wheels + Tyres for 64 Comet Caliente

Hi,

It's time to refresh my 64' Comet Caliente Convertible and I am now looking for right size wheels + tyres. Any suggestion?

I guess 14x7 or 14x6 is right size?

When I got the 65 it had the same wheels your specing out. I like them, being somewhat period correct for these cars. My biggest problem was the tire size. I have stretched the limits front and back on the tires ending up with smaller 60 series on the front, but had to use a spacer plate to move the fronts out away from the ball joint. The guys on here provided great information on tire sizing.

If you have any designs on upgrading to front disc brakes in the future, you're better off going with 15" wheels. Tire availability is better with 15" than with 14", too.

Thanks, now there is 14" wheels and 195/75 r14 tyres. The car is classified into Finnish museum car register which have restrictions of being original but also free of taxes. I cannot modify those brakes for example.

The most unclear is about Offset for 14" and also the width of wheel (6 or 7")

I have these on my 63. They were used on 64 Falcons and 65 Mustangs and are period correct.

I use these with a 205/60R15 tire and the circumference is almost exact as the original, so no speedometer issues.
