I removed the rear side window metal top part, and bolted it just under that. Its between the interior metal trim piece and the flange of the uni body just inside. looks to be a 1/2 in bolt with some washers, it swivels about 3/4s of an in.
Do you happen to have a pic of that location? :D

A video is worth 10,000 words! Certainly looks doable, and the Seatbelts Plus link to the retractable unit I posted looks like it would mount the same way. Thanks for posting this stuff! :D

Jim
Anytime Jim glad I could help. The website has quite a bit of tech info too. Found these instructions for early Mustang https://www.seatbeltsplus.com/mm5/image ... 0Front.pdf
Seems like their plate and stud is a good idea if the door jamb if too tight for a bolt head. In my case it was ok.

I thought I added this to my thread but I must have forgotten.
A couple years ago I added headlight and horn relays to the 65. Amazing how much of an improvement I got just from redirecting the power.
On the headlights I started with this kit from NPD https://www.npdlink.com/product/headlig ... 637/202877

Same kit https://www.haloheadlights.co/product/2 ... e-harness/

I didn't like the look of the new style relays so I hid them inside of a gutted voltage regulator

Horn relay:

As I recall the installation was easy on both harnesses. The hardest part was hiding all the new wiring.
I’ll take a pic and post on the installation. If I posted this somewhere else let me know…my mind is toast

No problem Joe. Doesn’t your car have a horn relay from the factory?

A few pics of the headlight and horn relay harnesses installation. I mounted the VR case with relays to the right front face of the radiator support. I didn’t paint the VR case so it could match the old paint on my Comet.

Image

Peaking through grill it doesn’t really look out of place
Image

The new harness connects to the starter relay. Notice the small fuse holder just below
Image

Horn relay and wiring tucked under the horizontal top edge of the radiator support just above the voltage regulator. It’s completely out of view unless you’re looking for it.
Image

I installed 4 new standard halogen bulbs but the harness is capable of supporting four H4 type high heat/high wattage bulbs. The big improvement makes night driving safer. With all four lights on the road is lit up almost like daytime

Yep, but everything got tossed when the A/C condenser was installed by PO :?
I'm going to try and get it all back together to the steering wheel. Shaft was replaced for R&P.

Hey Joe are all four lights actually 3 prong bright bulbs with hi & lo on both?

Joe do me a favor & edit in a link to these 2 new upgrades on page one of your thread so I can find it later on. one of these days I'm going to put an index at front of my build thread like you did .sure would come in handy.

Geez I cant remember but I thought I got different part number hi/lo beam lights. Just the standard parts. Amazingly my car still had original style sealed beam headlights not halogens. When I turn on all four now the amp meter has a big deflection.

Ill drop in the links chief

The Photobucket stamp on the early pics is kind of annoying. How do I get rid of them??

Ok I think maybe that was an idea I had to wire in four 3 prong bulbs ,that way all 4 burn on dim as well as bright. was going to get 2 of the aftermarket relay harnesses & just use half of each one. I said it wrong the first time ,it's like 2 sets of dim lights which are 2 element & burn on hi & lo. not 4 bright bulbs.

Just go back & edit,,, backspace out the link & edit in a new one on the old photobucket pics Joe. But I took a quick look what part of your thread are they like that? I looked at the first few pages & didnt see them, they all looked good to me.
