Joe, it's looking great. You've done a nice job adding some patina to the hood. Almost like it's been there all along. Kind of a shame to do that to a newly painted hood though. :( Someday when you get it painted no one will even remember.
I once had a small truck that was 4 different colors after I salvaged all the good parts from the one that got totalled. Didn't care about the colors as long as it was dependable.

Yeah my paint guy thinks the doors might be repainted. Who knows. Next time I have it out I'll take that front 3/4 pic so you can make fun of my door!

Forgive me for my ignorance on anything other than 66 comet cyclone, did the 65 come stock with 2 different hoods with scoops? Are they fiberglass?

ENOLCYC;the hood on Joe's Comet is a late 65 option, made of fiberglass, fake scoops,stock/normal was a flat steel hood. The factory Drag Cars got a fiberglass twin scooped ram air hood with ducting under the hood besides the twin scoops! ROY.

Replaced my leaking imported low mile 3 row radiator with a USA made replacement sold by NPD.
Here it is

Hope this one lasts longer than the last one!

US Radiator also makes an aluminum rad that looks like a stock unit. And they make the standard boxy looking aftermarket type aluminum replacement.

Got the crud out of my coolant filter and I'm almost back on the road.

It was a no name Chinese 3 row brass deal. It cooled great even on the hottest days. It recently started leaking.

Anyone know: is the leaker worth keeping and repairing? Or is junk junk?

Depends where its leaking, if its where the tubes go into the tanks probably not.
Your in the desert, must be a rad shop around you,,,?
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

I was too lazy to try and find a rad shop. Just got a new one.
Figured unless they rebuild the whole thing it wouldn't be worth it. Who knows what that would cost.

Seems like me and Johnnie are in a photography competition. So here's my submissions: ('cept his Comet is purtier).
Went for a long drive through some twisting mountain roads up in the desert. It was a perfect day for it. Comet drove great! :D

Great shots as well Joe, I am already seeing that I might have trouble putting a calendar together, not from lack of great shots but from an overabundance :D
