comet parts

Post by hot65rod »

Just a little FYI. If your ordering parts from Dearborn classics. They are now ecklers. They also own macs. So parts are more than available. Just not all of your order will no longer come from the same location.

And they conveniently raised the prices too.
I am not liking this own your competition business model. It is far and wide. The end result is less for the consumer.

I hear what you are saying. But unfortunately new or aftermarket parts are a hard find from a private owner. I myself would love to find my own treasure trove of parts. But I realize time is really never on our side these days

I also noticed that a lot of the parts Dearborn offered went by the wayside when Ecklers purchased them.

I have noticed the same thing that since Dearborn has become owned by Ecklers may of the parts previously listed in their catalog are no longer listed. Typical when a company that is 'not' ford oriented takes over another company. And they probably call it progress. And increased prices to add to their profits. Another source of parts slowly going to hell. Too bad.

I just ordered these trunk extensions from dearborn
http://www.dearbornclassics.com/trunk-e ... -1965.html
They sent me the right side, I noticed after I placed the order that it said ''right'' , but it clearly says 44.95 pr. in the ad, with a picture of both sides. I called them after only getting the right side, guy said they would send me the left side. then the next day a girl called & said they were 44.95 ea. & asked me do I want to buy the left side :x with discount shipping. :x  :x I'm done, no more dearborn/ecklers/mac/ssbc for me. to top it off it was in a "Classic To Current'' box, which I could have got for $70 bucks a pr.  I'll never buy from them again! :!:

Too bad about Dearborn. I don't like their new catalog or the website. Their new prices suck too!!

I can add to their stupidity. Many of the Comet parts interchange; namely convertible top seals on the 66/67. Now they say that they're different and they don't have the seals for the Comet.
