Looks very familiar! been there & done that. I agree with the pack, you can do it! I learned how to weld on the truck before this car. the floors are easier than fenders & body metal, a little thicker metal , more forgiving, easier to weld with a lot less burn thru. none of it will show, it dont have to be pretty! :D

Red, I still recall the seller's description on your Comet. Based upon that I would have expected better. Not sure if he was dishonest or ignorant to the facts? It's still worth saving and is very savable.

I got down to my roof, all trim, glass and interior removed. Fortunately the structure is in very good shape. The roof at the drip rail needs work. So you'll see why I am looking for a new roof skin. You have a good chance of finishing up before me :-)

Doug.....WOW! It's your car but I would be looking for a whole new roof starting at the base of the pillars.

Doug too bad you aren't a little closer to me, I have a good roof cut off low on the pillars. I think you need more than a skin!!

The gutters are solid as well as the under structure based up inspection from inside. I thought about sawing the posts and butt welding just as if someone was "chopping" a roof but I'm not sure if it warrants such an effort. Still a possibility?

Thanks,

Red;looks like everyone has been having issues with Dearborn Classics and MAC'S,so I would look at Auto krafters Inc., www.autokrafters.com , they seem to have the floor panels,I have their 2014 Catalogue and it shows just about every part for the floors.Their Catalogue also has a Mercury Man next to parts that fit Comets too, lots of pictures along side the part so you can see what you are getting! ROY.

Do the regular Comet floor pans work for the Calientes ?
