Thanks Mike. Slow going but we'll get there.
I've got the dimensions for the rolling chassis I'm having made by Checkered Racing and I'm hoping we can make this all fit in the Comet.
The 4 link frame bars measure 26 inches outside dimensions, In the picture I placed two 2 X 4 's 26 inches apart to see how much wheel space I'd have.
The rear wheels are 39 inches apart ,( 33 1/2" rear end housing, and 5 1/2" for the axels and rotors = 39 inches).
Frame rails will be 30 inches apart outside dimensions, add 26 inches for front end components and you get 56 inches wheel tracking.
The Mustang II front end will have the front wheel track at 56 inches, 55 inches is stock distance on 64 Comets.
The front tires measure 64 inches from outside wall to wall, and the back tires measure app. 64 3/4 inches outside wall to wall.

I was a little worried about where the 4 link front cross member was going to hit my inner rocker. The 4 link frame is 77 inches long but some of the rear end frame can be shaved off.
The picture shows where the 4 link cross member hits the inner rocker.
The drawing shows the dimensions of the 4 link.
The front end of the old Comet frame has a 4 3/4 inch rise at the firewall , the new frame will have a 6 inch rise at the same spot.

Here is what the mock up looked like. The rear wheels are a little far forward but you get the idea.

Awesome idea. I'm doing a chassis build currently on a non-Ford with my Dad, then I fully plan to build s full chassis Comet. Following closely. Looking good!

Work continues on the 64 project... Finally got her media blasted, the plan was to blast with water and glass, but the paint and crud came off so easily the water wasn't needed.
