The Deck is only .300 taller than a Cleveland, won't be much wider than stock 351C. Those Pretty Boss 302/351 style tappet covers gives a illusion of big. The photos from above show you have decent room in there. Andy could show us the 9.2 deck version in a 65' Comet, I know he has pictures...............Al

Al.my Windsor it TALL and WIDE,could not even use my FE MERCURY Pentroof VCs,even without the adapters,NO ROOM!!!It is also why I went to the BOSS 429 Scoop,the carb was almost touching the hood!!! ROY.

Its pretty wide, once you get the large cleveland heads on it, compared to a windsor head, it takes up a lot of real estate quickly. I had the engine in there with the stock shock towers, an there probably wasnt 1/8" of room between the vertical reinforcements that are welded on between the upper control arm bolts. 65Clevorcyclone, I'll try to post some pictures of my 351 Cleveland bolted in my 65 Comet Cyclone. I have a Crites shock tower kit and Charles Crites said the engine with his kit sets 2 inches lower in the engine bay. I have Ford Motorsports tall valve covers to clear my roller rocker arms. It really fills the engine bay but I still have some room in there. Look in the 64-65 comet section of this site under Caseville Cyclone about three or four pages in and I think I some pictures of me setting the motor in. Andy (In the meantime I'll try to post some pictures of the final installation)

I know the angle on the top u joint is tight, but it cycles freely with no binding. It has a little bit more adjustment that I can do to lessen the angle.

Is lowering the front of the column an option?

No, lowering it won't do anything, the column stick out needs to be less, which will decrease the angle. Keep in mind that this is all a complete flaming river system, I haven't modified or built this from other companies.SASSY wrote:Ya the joint angle sure looks sharp in the pic.
