You right Fred, it's all clean under there! looks great! judging from the pics you wont be able to shorten the column shaft much or the intermediate shaft will contact the header. but I'm sure you can see it better than me, just saying don't cut off too much!

I'll fiddle with it some more. I have adjustable motor mounts but everything is pretty much where it needs to be. I might try a double u joint and see if that works if I can't get it adjusted any more

Thanks. The car was so rust free that I didn't want to cut up the tunnel for a 6 speed or a tko500/600. I was already cringing cutting the small hole for the shifter lol.

Mocked up the front suspension. Have to get a master cylinder then start making brake lines and a clutch line.

Yup. 1 less ball joint, no spring perch or upper control arm bushings. All joints are now either heim, spherical or Torrington bearing. Caster and camber is basically infinitely adjustable. The brakes are 12" dual piston, but might change them out for 13/14" 4 piston units.

I'm very interested to see how this car handles compared to my stock suspension 63 falcon. Might build my own version of this set up for it.

Please post some details on the coil over strut suspension conversion. How does the upper end of the strut mount to the shock tower. Who makes the kit? Are the calipers a name brand or GM sourced?
Is a rack and pinion system required or will a stock '65 type system work? ( or is it a front steer system?)

Here's the company that makes it. Not cheap, but the quality is great. I have a flaming river rack, but it's supposed to work with factory steering components. My friend has one in his 67 falcon with factory steering as far as I know. The calipers are baer but I think they are corvette replacements. They don't have any gm part numbers in them so they're ok in my books. They have Baer cast into the visible side. The custom spindles are rear steer and the struts attach to the 3 shock tower bolts that hold the upper shock plate into the tower. They are located with the factory coil spring locators

I feel you will like that front suspension! A good friend uses the RRS syatem befoe Gateway had theirs! ROY.
