Nope. Fully under. Surgeon did it laparoscopically using three 1/2" incisions in my abdomen. So far, no pain from the incisions, but I'm starting to feel like I've been doing too many sit-ups when I first stand up. I'm sure it's from where he was poking around in there with his ratchets and wrenches. It will probably take several days to get over that. Right now what hurts the most is my throat from the ventilator. I can think of funner things to do with my time. I recommend you keep yours as long as possible.
back in '87 I had emergency gall bladder surgery, they cut me like a fish except the wrong direction, from a few inches above my belly button all the way around the side I guess thankfully I was still in my 20s,because I would be laid up forever now if they did that to me, that was all prior to them doing laparoscopy but I was bad wih gangrene in my gall bladder, I think they would have cut me open anyway, that was the one they told me I was within 24 hours of death, I will admit I felt pretty bad but not dying sick, but I will take their word for it, I drove the Comert to the hospital a few days before so while I was laying in the hospital bed near death I sent my dad and uncle to go get it and take it home, you have to have your priorities straight that was a cold January the Comet was my daily at the time-if I could go back in time I wopuld go to the dr sooner and kept the Comet as my daily, I would also grab some quarterpanels for it so with the ability to time travel I am picking up Comet parts I guess
JIM,POP is dang glad your ok,,,,I read somewhere to save money on parts and material,,a hosp will use the same tube to cram down your throat that is shoved up some place else,,,,they just boil it for awhile in water with a few drops of dish washing soap added,,,,,that soap might have irratated your throat,,,,,take care,,,,, pop
Pops, I sent your reply to Jim to a friend. He just bad an operation too and is complaining of a sore throat as well.
Im sure your diagnosis will help him deal with the pain.
Maybe with a smile!
Fred
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about
