Joe, check out this T-Bolt ram-air setup on a '65 little bird. I dig the quad headlamp bezels & modded grille, almost looks like a '64 Comet in a way. I assume a tight seal w/ air filter would keep debris out of the intake on a track car? NASCAR runs hidden cowl induction w/o problems, wondering if this could work?

5.5 deg caster. I could get way more.
All I did was the Shelby drop with adjustable lowers and strut rods. Seems to handle well.
Talking to John at Opentracker he told me not to get too crazy with stiffness. He suggested a 1” sway bar and 4.5 leaf reverse eye rear springs. Lowering the front a little with 620 springs along with race valved Bilstein shocks. With that setup it’s super stiff so anymore wouldn’t help I think.
I think I’m going to lower it another couple of inches in the near future.

That looks great Joe!
The bolt on tear drop scoop I have is universal. So it doesn’t conform with the lines on the original steel hood. If you look closely you’ll see there’s an opening just forward of it. Free ram air!!
I was going to make a metal plate to close that off but I like the thought of the cool air getting rammed in and exiting the vents on the back of the scoop.

Was talking with Joe about the perils of turn 9 at Willow Springs.
Here’s a vid. He comes in fast. Apexes wide and tried to correct and rolls it.
I’m super careful there. I’m not sure how fast he was going but wow that turn throws you out wide!

Hey joe, sounds like a real spinner!
I ran stock 289 rods and crank in my circle tracker at 6700 + for several seasons
Without a problem, yours should be WAY STRONGER than mine.
Hope to get to see the car this winter when we are down there on holiday.

Hey Fred I was just looking through my thread and saw this.
Ive got my rev limiter set at 6500. Seems like its still wanting to pull hard when it cuts out.
I’m thinking of cranking it up to 7k to get me more top end speed but I don't want to scatter parts all over the place

'70 Boss 302 forged steel cross-drilled crank
Roys old H-beam 302 rods and main girdle (thanks buddy!)
Forged 10:1 pistons.
Stock heads ported polished with stainless valves.
Isky .540 lift/290 duration solid cam with Comp roller rockers.
Roys old Victor Jr. intake.
Mallory dual point distributer tuned to Boss 302 specs.
Canton road race oil pan with windage tray.
Holley 650HP double pumper.
ARP everything.
