Headlight fitment 1961 Coupe
My Comet is getting closer to being back on the road! I just went to install the reproduction FoMoCo quad headlights in the buckets and the glass lugs on the back of the bulbs do not align with the notches in the buckets. When two of the lugs are aligned the headlight is crooked.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Someone may have the put buckets back in the wrong locations . not sure about a 61 but 65's have 4 different buckets & location codes are stamped around the big hole in the back, though some are faintly stamped .

Thanks guys!
That was it.
The driver’s side high beam bucket was replaced 50-60 years ago with a low beam ring. Thankfully I had a spare in the parts hoard!

... aside from needing some polishing, from the sideways pics' it looks like solid rocker - cowl and rad support. Great to see another Swept Wing Comet on the way to the future. try to post a pic of the iconic Finned' tail section. I was told only the Comet and the Studebaker Hawk had real fins in '61...

I’ve never been able to figure out the board rotates my pics.
Both rear quarter panels need work.
I have some 14” Ranchero rims I’m thinking of using with bias white walls.
The smoke is coming from the header wrap.

..lots of potential in those pics' - 'hope to see, after all it's only limited by your imagination (and resources) .. "... do the research, do the math, than do what you can afford... "

'61 - some PO pics that were actually in the '61 when I pulled it from the junkyard with critters bailing out :
.
was yard art for a few years
.
later years got drivability worked out
.
retired and took some bodywork classes and made it shiny enough.

That’s basically what I’m doing. It’s built for dependability and the 200 with headers and duals was just to cope with the fact that new cast iron exhaust manifolds weren’t widely available in the 1990s when it was my daily driver.
I bought it in’91 for $100. The engine and ford knee knocker A/C system was out of a $100 65 Falcon which supplied the front clip for the 65 Ranchero my ex wrecked on Mo-Pac freeway in Austin.
I have a set of bucket seats and console that I plan to install eventually. My car was manufactured prior to the release of the S-22 but since it’s already modified I’m just going to build it the way I want. I might not even paint it.

Hey Rusty, what's that wooden spoke wheel in the background attached to?

It’s a 1929 Challenger,
6cylinder rumble seat Coupe 15,800 original miles.
Dodge didn’t make the first Challenger, Essex did.

I have liked them since I spotted my first one in 1969!
