UP DATE....and a good one !!!! my son was operated on yesterday morning,,,had open heart surgery to repair a vessel right next to the heart itself,,,had to stop the heart for awhile,,done the repair,,it cranked right back up and all is doing fine,,,,his health, age and the fact he does not and has never smoked was all in his favor,,,the GOOD LORD GUIDED that young doctor's hands perfect,,we are very thankful,,,,thanks goes out to all who knew he was going to have to have this done for their pryers and kind wishes and words,,,,he has to take it easy for awhile,,,but soon he'll be back to his old self, and we can get back to what we've always done.....and he's ready !!and OL POP's pace will improve also, the last few mo's have been in limbo,,with my eyes having to go thru what was done and him not having the energy and air to hardly do anything.....me and him have been like a fart in a hot skittle since he was able to walk,,we are so close,,,,,this proves you never fly to high what you can't fall !!...thanks again !! A little update from last Saturday. The "post 1970" 4 bolt balancer and driver side water pump are gone and a new 3 bolt balancer and pass side Edelbrock water pump along with the correct pulleys are installed. To me a 65 289 needs to look the part. Not much of an update but some progress considering the setback.

not much to report, other then what son said the other day...we are keeping the engine started and letting it get up to normal operating temp on a regular basis,,,,don't recall if I've ever said before,,but the frame number on this thing is 522,so it is an early cobra kit car from factory five...I ordered it in june of 1998,picked it up at the truck terminal sept 98,it came in a 14ft x6,6 wide and 3.5 tall wooden crate,,on a roll back trk, backed it in drive way in frt of old shop, slid it off and uncrated and carried inside,Edelbrock claims by using their alumn heads ,cam intake with 1 4bbl gear drive and a few other goodies the 289 ought to put out 365 hp..this one we put together has 2 4bbl's,so we really are just guessing,,but it should carry a 2200lb,give or take pretty good with a 3.55 ls rear gear and a tremek 5spd....POP may run out of TALENT way before the car runs out of steam    ,son is soon to be released from doctor,,,this deer season will be the first in many yrs that I won't go..sold out during the summer,,I will have all winter free,,,just to work and build this plastic car,,,,,thanks for the kind words regarding my only son,DWAYNE,,,and his mother says it also...POP/GLENDA...........
