2100 carburetor spacer

my 1963 comet with a 260 has a carb (2100) spacer with hose connector for pcv valve. I don't know what is the bottom or top of the spacer. Each side is completely different from the other. Thanks.

Flat side up, PCV valve to the back and at least a paper gasket above and below.
